In the communities Helping Aid Foundation serves, a single medical emergency can push a family into long-term debt. Many people delay treatment simply because they cannot afford the journey to a clinic, let alone the medicine.

Our healthcare programme organises medical camps, supports healthcare facilities, provides medicines, runs health awareness campaigns, and assists patients suffering from chronic illnesses and medical emergencies.

Free medical camps are the core of the programme. A camp brings clinicians, examination and medicines into the village itself, which removes the barrier that stops most people seeking care in the first place. For a family without transport, the journey to a clinic can cost more than the consultation, and the day of lost work costs more than both.

Medicines are provided at the camp rather than prescribed and left to the patient to find. A prescription a family cannot fill is not treatment. Supplying the medicine directly is what turns a diagnosis into a course of care that is actually completed.

Patients with chronic illness receive continuing support. Conditions that need medication every month are the ones that quietly ruin a household budget, because the cost never ends and it cannot be deferred without the patient deteriorating. This is the group most likely to stop treatment on their own.

Emergency patient support covers the sudden costs a family cannot absorb: an admission, a procedure, or treatment that has to happen immediately. A single medical emergency is one of the most common routes into long-term debt in the communities we serve.

Health awareness campaigns run alongside the clinical work. A large share of what the camps treat is preventable, and prevention only works when it reaches people before they are ill rather than after.
